12/7/2011 CCF Newsletter

Our Mission: We are servants of God by serving others. We share a responsibility to bring God's love to hurting people. We are a Christian outreach fellowship of believers dedicated to showing the people of the Yucatan Peninsula, through our teaching, actions and love, the life changing power of Jesus Christ.

If you are considering a commodity donation to Casa Hogar para Ninos Esperanza, here are some items that are currently needed:
1. Children’s clothes and shoes (any size-any gender)
2. Twin Size Blankets (winter is here)

“The difference between listening to a radio sermon and going to church...is almost like the difference between calling your girl on the phone and spending an evening with her.” Dwight L. Moody

Are you planning a vacation to live or currently living in the Riviera Maya? If the answer is yes, we invite you to attend our Sunday Service. We offer a non-denominational, Bible based Christian church with exceptional service lessons in English, a warm and friendly congregation and a strong and meaningful Christian Mission Outreach program.

If you are in Cancun and have a clothing donation for our children, please contact Cherilyn for sorting, sizing and Wednesday delivery. Strive to make sure all items donated are clean and serviceable. Currently, we especially need clothing for young girls ages 6-11.

We have been blessed with financial donations to benefit our children at Casa Hogar para Ninos Esperanza. We are always grateful for the assistance we receive from our worldwide mission partners. Recent donations include:
Mike and Stacy, Illinois: Children’s Christmas
Jim and Linda, Illinois: Children’s Christmas
Shawn and Suzanne, Quintana Roo: Children’s Christmas
Oscar and Patty, Quintana Roo: Children’s Christmas
Luis and Katy, Quintana Roo: Children’s Christmas
Wayne, Ruth and David, Kansas: Children’s Christmas

With the financial help of our worldwide Mission Partners, this past week, volunteers from Cancun Christian Fellowship were able to provide a week’s supply of eggs, cheese (yellow and white), chicken, chorizo, pork, ham and turkey lunchmeat, salchicha, molida especial, rice, mermelada and milk to our Cancun Christian home. Groceries are purchased and delivered every Wednesday. If you would like to make a donation to our Casa Hogar Food Fund, please contact Cherilyn or Tom.

“Tears shed for self are tears of weakness, but tears shed for others are a sign of strength.” Billy Graham

It is nice that George and Jean have joined our fellowship as Sunday regulars. New members are always welcome and appreciated. It is also good to see Gary and Marti returning to our Cancun family. We missed you in your absence. It’s also nice having Gary back in the Wednesday men’s group.

TJ also brought a guest this week, Diana Contreras. It is always great to have guests and we hope all of you take the lead from TJ.

GREAT INFO TO READ AND KEEP HANDY: Most of you remember Donald Kelly. Donald has opened an auto repair shop (Cancun Repair Center) in the business park behind the Comfort Inn on Autopista 307 and near the airport. To find his building, go through security and proceed straight ahead. Once you get to the concrete wall turn right and at the next road turn left. He is the first building on the left behind the chain link fence. His office phone number is 998-886-2161. Many of our church members and friends have used his services and we are very happy to have his business in Cancun. Tell Don you heard about him in the CCF Newsletter.

Henry deserves congratulations and recognition. It seems that Henry had a great score in the triathlon competition last week. Keep up the good work Henry.

As many of you know, just prior to the Sunday service we show different fishing videos from approximately 9:15 AM to 9:45 AM. We have a loyal group that shows up weekly to enjoy the fishing adventures. This week we will be highlighting San Felipe, Yucatan and fly fishing for Tarpon. You are invited to come early and join in the fellowship.

Mark Shook will be providing this week’s Sunday service lesson on “Serve the World Celebration”. If you cannot join us in person, we invite you to view the lesson at home. Please click on the link, relax, open your heart and enjoy. http://communityoffaith.lightcastmedia.com/console/3150/341117662

“We are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we won't need to tell anybody it does. Lighthouses don't fire cannons to call attention to their shining- they just shine.” Dwight L. Moody

Upcoming events:
• A special Christmas Day service is planned for our COF members and guests. Please join us in traditional Christmas music, a great lesson and fellowship with your Cancun Christian family.
• Christmas Eve at Casa Hogar para Ninos Esperanza is the best way we can think of to prepare for Christmas Day. You are all invited to join us for the activities that will begin around 8:00 PM. Be sure to bring your camera. If you plan to attend, please let us know in advance so we can give Esther a head count.
• December 13th has been established for our Casa Hogar decoration party. You are all invited to come, interact with the children, Pastor Mancilla and Esther and help us decorate their home. There will also be games for the younger kids and Anna will be there with her face painting supplies.

“Catch on fire with enthusiasm and people will come for miles to watch you burn.” John Wesley

Prince and Kathy, attending our December 25th service, would be a GREAT Christmas gift.

Christmas is in 3 weeks and we continue with our plans for the children’s Christmas at Casa Hogar, our Cancun Christian home. You can sponsor a child’s Christmas joy with a $50.00 donation (and we could really use your help). To see last year’s Christmas activities, go to www.cancunchristianfellowship.com and click on the gallery.

That’s it for today…WE HOPE TO SEE YOU SUNDAY!!!
