“I believe that life is given us so we may grow in love, and I believe that God is in me as the sun is in the color and fragrance of a flower - the Light in my darkness, the Voice in my silence.” Helen Keller

With the financial help of our Blue Diamond Mission Partner in Missouri, renovation of Casa Hogar’s 4th and final community bathroom started today under the watchful eye of our contractor Brian Schaefer. We will be showing project in progress pictures in church.

But don’t think our work is complete…next month, with financial help from the same Blue Diamond Mission Partner, we will rescreen the orphanage to keep the mosquitoes away from our sleeping children. This project will include new quality aluminum screens on all windows and new aluminum screen doors front, side and rear. The contractor for the screening project will be Mr. Reyes, the same contractor that built the Hotel Zone restaurant quality kitchen cabinets for the home.

“Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved.” Barbara Johnson

With the financial help of our church members and worldwide Christian Mission Partners, CCF Good Guys Henry, John and Gary were able to purchase and deliver a week’s supply of chicken nuggets, fish, molida especial, salchicha Vienna, sliced turkey, queso Oaxaca, sliced ham, bread, hot dog buns, media crema, chocolate cake, fruit and vegetables to our Christian home. Cancun Christian Fellowship purchases and delivers groceries to Casa Hogar para Ninos Esperanza every week.

“Do not anticipate trouble, or worry about what may never happen. Keep in the son light.” T. Martin

OUR CHURCH HAS MOVED: Effective this Sunday, February 3rd, 2013, Community of Faith Cancun has a NEW LOCATION. We will be meeting in the Salon del Sol at the La Quinta Hotel Centro, Avenida Tulum, Sm 4, Mza 14, Lote 2 in downtown Cancun. The Children’s Bible Study will meet next door in the Salon del Mar. Our new location has plenty of Sunday morning free parking and is located on the R1 bus route (convenient to guests staying in the Hotel Zone). As always, services begin at 10:00 AM sharp.

“Ultimately you are doing what you do for one of two reasons: to serve oneself or to serve God.” Unknown

Semi Annual Pizza Luncheon is scheduled for February 10th. Community of Faith Cancun members and Christian Mission Partners are welcome. We will be getting together at California Pizza Kitchen at 12:30 to dine and fellowship. Leave your money in your pocket…this one is on us. This date marks the anniversary of the 3rd year of our new English service and Christian Mission Outreach and we hope you join us. As always, children are welcome.

“Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 6:1

Speaking of Pizza, yesterday, Pete and Nancy sponsored the monthly Pizza Lunch for our children at Casa Hogar para Ninos Esperanza. CCF Christian Mission Partners Pete, Nancy, Cherilyn, John, Gary, Jean, George and Tom were on hand to assist with the party. As always, we had a wonderful time visiting with the children.

“When someone tells you that you can’t do something, perhaps you should consider that they are only telling you what they can’t do.” Sheldon Cahoon

Mission Partners Pete and Nancy will be hosting a Valentine party for our children at Casa Hogar. If you are a CCF Christian Mission Partner and would like to assist, talk with Nancy at church Sunday or contact Cherilyn at cherilynmartin@gmail.com
. Help is always appreciated and besides, you will have a great time.
“You can’t have a perfect day without doing something for someone who’ll never be able to repay you.” John Wooden

Our pre-church entertainment will feature Flip Pallot fly fishing the Florida Keys and Everglades. This is a great presentation with plenty of action. Remember there is an OXXO next door to the hotel if you desire coffee, soft drinks or snacks while watching the show.

All to Jesus, I surrender…All to Him I freely give…I will ever love and trust Him…In His presence daily live.” Judson W. Van DeVenter

The purpose of tithing, found in Deuteronomy 14:22-23 (NLT), is made clear: to “teach you always to love the Lord your God.” By practicing good tithing habits, scripture tells us we are showing God our desire to put him first in our lives.

“When you go to a doctor for your annual check-up, he or she will often begin to poke, prod, and press various places, all the while asking, Does this hurt? How about this? If you cry out in pain, one of two things has happened. Either the doctor has pushed too hard, without the right sensitivity or, more likely, there's something wrong, and the doctor will say, we'd better do some more tests. It's not supposed to hurt there!" So it is when pastors preach on financial responsibility, and certain members cry out in discomfort, criticizing the message and the messenger. Either the pastor has pushed too hard or perhaps there's something wrong. In that case, I say, my friend, we're in need of the Great Physician because it's not supposed to hurt there.” Ben Rogers

If you were in church Sunday, you heard Katherine discussing her work with City of Joy Cancun. Katherine has been very faithful in her work with CoJC and is the perfect choice to lead our new Building Spiritual Bridges Outreach with the center. To support our new activity, we have added CoJC information to many of our existing websites and have built a new website to help us succeed in our commitment to them. If Katherine asks you for help, please do so with love in your heart. If you are a CCF Christian Mission Partner and would like to help Katherine, please email her at kphillips99@hotmail.com. To view the new website, click on www.cityofjoycancunfriends.com then scroll and click. The website was built and installed on Monday evening and by Tuesday evening it ranked #8 on page 1 of Google.

“What is the difference between an obstacle and an opportunity? Our attitude toward it. Every opportunity has a difficulty, and every difficulty has an opportunity.” J. Sidlow Baxter

We are currently running eleven websites…ten typical websites pointing out and one directional website pointing in. All websites are linked together and performing flawlessly. The proof is in the pudding…just look at the number of visitors in church each Sunday. All websites are designed for the benefit of our church as well as our Christian Mission Outreach. Our websites are monitored daily and most are tweaked on a weekly basis.

Laurie Lipp offers a Children’s Bible Study Class each Sunday for children ten and under. The class is held in the showroom at the front of Tokal Business Center. For additional details, please contact Laurie before or after the service. She will be excited to talk to you.

Katherine Phillips heads up our Building Spiritual Bridges Outreach with City of Joy Cancun. To assist Katherine, contact her at church or email her at kphillips99@hotmail.com .

We are currently seeking a Mission Partner to lead our Wednesday Men’s Group. If you have the desire, we have the need. Please contact Tom Martin at tommartinmx@gmail.com / 998-121-1316 for additional information.

The Thursday Evening Christian Women’s Study Group meets at California Pizza Kitchen, Malecon las Americas, at 6:30 PM. For more information please contact Cherilyn Martin at 998-121-1315 or email her at cherilynmartin@gmail.com .

“Courage does not always roar. Sometimes it is a quiet voice at the end of the day, saying, "I will try again tomorrow." Mary Anne Radmacher

With the financial help of our church members and worldwide Christian Mission Partners, CCF Good Guys Henry, John and Gary along with New Guy Andy, were able to purchase and deliver a week’s supply of chicken, shrimp, pork, bacon, molida especial, salchicha Vienna, chorizo, sliced turkey, white cheese, bread, donuts, media crema, cheese whiz and a chocolate cake to our Christian home. “There is enough time in every day to do God's work... in God's way.” Ted W. Engstrom

We received a call from Trish Gonzalez stating that she and the girls will be returning to our Cancun family in approximately two months. It was good hearing her voice and it will be great having them back.

“In ordinary life we hardly realize that we receive a great deal more than we give, and that it is only with gratitude that life becomes rich.” Dietrich Bonhoeffer

On a sad note, we have not received any further communication from the Spanish pastors we were talking with about merging their churches with our church, we can only assume they are no longer interested. We feel they could have benefited from our experience and we could have benefited from their mission outreach but things do not always work out.

“Of the Seven Deadly Sins, anger is possibly the most fun. To lick your wounds, to smack your lips over grievances long past, to roll over your tongue the prospect of bitter confrontations still to come, to savior to the last toothsome morsel both the pain you are given and the pain you are giving back - in many ways it is a feast fit for a king. We are extremely please and honored to share with you that we will be receiving needed remaining financial support to completely rescreen Casa Hogar para Ninos Esperanza. The screens will be built and installed next month. We have the best Christian Mission Partners a Christian Mission Outreach could ask for. We love you, we appreciate you and we thank you.

“One act of charity will teach us more of the love of God than a thousand sermons. One act of unselfishness, of real self-denial, the putting forth of one loving feeling to the outcast and "those who are of the way," will tell us more than whole volumes of the wisest writers on theology.” Frederick William Robertson

With the financial help of our church members and worldwide Christian Mission Partners, CCF Good Guys John, Henry and Gary were able to purchase and deliver a week’s supply of chicken, chuleta, fish, molida especial, salchicha, sliced turkey, sliced ham, white cheese, bread, milk, media crema and cheese whiz to our Christian home. Cancun Christian Fellowship purchases and delivers groceries to Casa Hogar para Ninos Esperanza every week.

“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal.” Henry Ford

If you were in church last week, you were given preliminary details concerning our thoughts on merging six small low income area Spanish Christian churches with our church. As a general discussion the Spanish churches would continue in their current locations. The downtown church would probably share our location but meet at a separate time. There would be time between services to get to know members of our new family. They currently have a mission outreach that weekly feeds about 400 low income family children and their work seems to be a great fit with our work. Our input in the churches would be on a supervisory and teaching level. We have offered to teach and show them what we have learned through trial and error and help them grow their churches and continue to support their Christian Mission Outreach. If this sounds exciting to you, that’s probably because it is exciting. We will let you know more when we know more. All prayers are welcomed.

“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ … how shall they hear without a preacher?” Rom. 10:17,14

“Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature” Mark 16:15

“Freely you received, freely give” Matt. 10:8

The Casa Hogar Christmas Eve celebration was a huge success. Esther’s family from the US was visiting and joined in the festivities. Thanks to our fantastic Mission Partners, we were able to provide for all the children and adults in the home. The opening of presents started around 10:00 PM followed by a huge Christmas Eve dinner and our group left around 1:15 AM. It was a wonderful evening for all in attendance. Special thanks to all Mission Partners that helped make this a wonderful Christmas for our children. Your Mission Outreach was represented by:

“The greatest of all miracles is that we need not be tomorrow what we are today, but we can improve if we make use of the potential implanted in us by God.” Samuel M. Silver

A CoFC member along with a local Mission Partner donated new, prewrapped toys that were used for King’s Day presents for the children. This the first time we have celebrated King’s Day with the children and we hope it becomes an annual event.

Last Sunday our service was blessed with numerous guests and we welcomed back several traveling members we had not seen in a while. Reunions are always special but they are especially significant when it involves our Cancun Christian family. Welcome home.

“What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has the eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men. That is what love looks like.” Saint Augustine

Our pre-church entertainment will feature Flip and Diane Pallot fishing inland lakes in South Carolina. The scenery is beautiful and the action is hot. Remember there is an OXXO next door to the church if you desire coffee, soft drinks or snacks while watching the show.

“I choose gentleness... nothing is won by force. I choose to be gentle. If I raise my voice may it be only in praise. If I clench my fist, may it be only in prayer. If I make a demand, may it be only of myself.” Max Lucado (worth reading again)

We would like to take a minute to discuss our Christian Mission Outreach. There has been unneeded discussion about who we are, what we do and why we do it. Below is the description of Cancun Christian Fellowship’s Mission Outreach:
1. We are a Christian Mission Outreach and make no apologies for it
2. We strive to work with Christians and Christian groups but we will consider requests from individuals or groups affiliated with other religions
3. We perform our work to honor our Heavenly Father, not ourselves or others around us
4. Currently, our primary mission activity is centered around Casa Hogar para Ninos Esperanza, Cancun’s only Christian orphanage
5. We have operating guidelines establish and approved by Casa Hogar and we honor those guidelines with no exceptions
6. We are a team and we operate and conduct ourselves as a team at all times…we are not individuals seeking public acknowledgement or recognition
7. Our Father has much needed work for us to do and he expects us to perform that work using the full extent of the ability he has instilled in us
8. We have the absolute best Christian Mission Partners a Mission Outreach could ask for…they support us because they have confidence in us and our work…we will always conduct ourselves in a manner that will never dishonor their confidence
9. We never forget that the orphanage is Pastor Mancilla, Esther and the children’s home and visits to their home are always preapproved…it is a simple courtesy
10. Commodity donations must be examined, sized and sorted by Laurie Lipp or Cherilyn Martin prior to delivery…if clothing does not measure up to our “would you let your child wear this in public” standard, we have other outlets of true need for most items

“Temper is what gets most of us into trouble. Pride is what keeps us there.” Anonymous (hang on to this quote too)

The purpose of tithing, found in Deuteronomy 14:22-23 (NLT), is made clear: to “teach you always to love the Lord your God.” By practicing good tithing habits, scripture tells us we are showing God our desire to put him first in our lives.

“You cannot serve both God and Money." Luke 16:12-14

“If a person gets his attitude toward money straight, it will help straighten out almost every other area in his life.” Billy Graham

“For a small reward, a man will hurry away on a long journey; while for eternal life, many will hardly take a single step.” Thomas Kempis
