Cancun Christian Fellowship Newsletter 11/10/2013

Matthew 25:40 The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'

Our Mission: We honor God by serving others. We share a responsibility to bring God's love to hurting people. We are a Christian Mission Outreach dedicated to showing people, through our actions and love, the life changing power of Jesus Christ.

“As we work to create light for others, we naturally light our own way.” Mary Anne Radmacher

Christmas is only 7 weeks away and we continue to plan to provide Christmas for approximately 160 along with a December 21st Christmas dinner for the 120 residents of CIDA. If you would like join us for Christmas Dinner at CIDA, Santa’s helpers are always welcome and will be appreciated.

“What we spend, we lose. What we keep will be left for others. What we give away will be ours forever.” David McGee

We have also started working on our plans for 2014. First on the list is a new addition for CIDA. They do not have adequate dormitories for male residents. Most sleep out in the yard when it is not raining and in the meeting hall when it is. Their beds consist of the typical reclining plastic beach chairs that you see on the beach front hotels. Of course, these are the “plain Jane” models but they serve the need. They are also easy clean and to move inside when it starts to rain. It is our intent to assist CIDA with the funding and construction for the new addition. If you remember, we remodeled 4 bathrooms, installed a septic system and completely remodeled the annex for Casa Hogar para Ninos Esperanza…so building a dormitory should be a fairly easy task. We have the best mission partners in the world and they always come through for a worthwhile project.

“Even the smallest act of caring for another person is like a drop of water - it will make ripples throughout the entire pond...” Jessy and Bryan Matteo

Last Tuesday night we met with 14 Pastors representing the Global Mission Alliance. The meeting took place at the CIDA facility in Leona Vicario. The purpose of the meeting was to solicit their support for CIDA and it appears we were successful. Pastor Lee and Pastor Kang stated the alliance would like to make approximately five commodity donations per year with the first donation to take place in December. All of the Pastors are from the Atlanta, GA area. I do not have to tell you what a great gift this will be. Cancun Christian Fellowship will be providing Global Mission Alliance with a list of needed items and working with them to facilitate delivery to CIDA.

“Stop looking at social media websites, and instead work out what contribution you can make to the world, and go and do it". "Find your niche, find what you are good at, and focus on that and be a good person along the way.” Thomas Flohr

It was nice have Jean and George and Prince and Kathy in attendance for the past several Sundays. We hope their return to the US was safe and seamless and we look forward to seeing them again in the near future.

“The desire of love is to give. The desire of lust is to take.” Author Unknown

We have a special sermon this week and next week we will start a new Mark Shook series on “All In”. I have started previewing the lessons and I know you will not want to miss them. I know you all agree that the previous lesson on Christians and marriage were excellent.

“Love only grows by sharing. You can only have more for yourself by giving it away to others.” Brian Tracy

This past week we also received a large quantity of clothing from a Mission Partner in Merida. Because of sizes received, the majority of the clothing will go to City of Joy and CIDA. We were impressed with the quantity and quality of the clothing donated.

“It's easier to take than to give. It's nobler to give than to take. The thrill of taking lasts a day. The thrill of giving lasts a lifetime.” Joan Marques

The purpose of tithing, found in Deuteronomy 14:22-23 (NLT), is made clear: to “teach you always to love the Lord your God.” By practicing good tithing habits, scripture tells us we are showing God our desire to put him first in our lives.

“You can have everything in life that you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.” Zig Ziglar
